How do I install IncidentOps in my Slack workspace?

Click the "Add to Slack" button on our homepage and authorize the app. You'll be guided through the setup process. Once installed, you can start using commands like /incident and /oncall immediately.

What Slack permissions does IncidentOps need?

IncidentOps only requests the minimum permissions necessary to function. We need access to post messages in channels where the app is invited, and to receive slash commands. We never read private messages or access channels where IncidentOps hasn't been explicitly added.

How do I upgrade to the Pro plan?

Run /incident upgrade in any channel where IncidentOps is installed. You'll receive a secure payment link to complete the upgrade. Once payment is confirmed, Pro features are activated immediately.

Can I export my incident data?

Yes! Pro users can export postmortems to Markdown with a single command. Run /incident postmortem in an active incident channel to generate and export your postmortem.

How does AI postmortem generation work?

When you run /incident postmortem, our AI analyzes the incident timeline, status updates, and resolution notes to generate a comprehensive postmortem. This includes root cause analysis, action items, and lessons learned. Pro subscription is required for AI-powered postmortems.

How do I set up on-call rotations?

Use /oncall schedule @user1 @user2 @user3 [days] to create a rotation. The [days] parameter sets the rotation period (e.g., 7 for weekly). View the calendar with /oncall calendar and check who's currently on-call with /oncall.

Can I integrate IncidentOps with PagerDuty?

Yes! Pro users can connect PagerDuty for phone/SMS alerts. Pages sync via webhook, so acknowledgments in PagerDuty automatically update in Slack. Contact support to set up the integration.

What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?

If you downgrade to Free, you retain access to all features except Pro-only ones like AI postmortems and unlimited history. Your incident data remains accessible. If you uninstall the app, data is deleted within 30 days per our retention policy.

How do I delete my data?

Contact us at privacy@incidentops.io to request data deletion. We'll process your request within 30 days. You can also uninstall the app from your Slack workspace, which triggers automatic data deletion.

Is IncidentOps SOC 2 compliant?
